Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
Jeremiah 3:33
Spent past few nights in deep, personal prayer.
(with my loyal lil pup by my side).
And in each instance, talking directly to my Father in heaven, my body begins to vibrate.
Imagine drifting thru space, approaching what we call ‘Earth’, peering down at its majesty.
Feels like an invitation to explore the world below, while reminded our souls come from and belong to somewhere else very far away.
Then today I receive news of a new album from Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep label imprint.
For those who know, SEVENTEEN linked to their music three times between 2017-2020.
So I get in the car, press play/shuffle, and drive off into the forest. First track is called ‘Arrival’:
This being human is a guest house
Every morning a new arrival
A joy, a depression, a meanness
Some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows
Who violently sweep your house
Empty of its furniture
Still, treat each guest honourably
He may be clearing you out
For some new delight
The dark thought, the shame, the malice
Meet them at the door laughing
And invite them in
Be grateful for whatever comes
Because each has been sent
As a guide from beyond
Did you ever hear of Chick Tracts? Jack T. Chick was a cartoonist who penned evangelical tracts. I came in on the tail end of hippie generation. Yep. I was a flower child. Chick Tracts were the thing back then, along with the Hollywood Free Paper. You needed something edgy back then to reach the street people. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior at a Teen Challenge rally when I was 15 years old. I quit drugs cold turkey, turned my back on the counter culture and followed Him. I remember going places like Sacramento and San Francisco handing out Chick Tracts. Never underestimate the power of a cartoon
Thank you!
